As a Steak n Shake Trainer, you get to be involved in making our guests have a great experience, and you get to influence the lives of your fellow Associates. The Service and Production Trainer positions within Steak n Shake provide a foundation for leaders to grow. Throughout our history, Trainers have been a great source of talent for us. These individuals know what it takes to make our guests have a great experience, thus they make some of our best Managers and in most cases go on to become General Managers, District Managers and Interns with us.

Our Internal Management Candidate Program (IMCP) is one place you can start to expand your horizons. This program seeks individuals at the hourly Associate level that have the ability to lead people, the drive to improve results and the interpersonal skills to ensure our guests have a pleasant experience. As a candidate in this program, you will receive training that demonstrates the keys to being a successful Steak n Shake Manager at a pace that is aligned with your learning preference.

- Candidate has worked at Steak n Shake for at least 6 months
- Candidate is certified and capable of working all stations
- Candidate has trainer experience (preferred)
- Group Market Human Resources and District Manager conduct selection interviews
- Objectives from Development Summary are completed
- Candidate has passed MIT mid-term
