Manager

After the eight week training program is completed, you graduate and become a Manager. At that level, we like to say you are in charge of your own destiny, because you can go as quickly through the other positions as you are motivated to do so.

A Manager’s responsibilities are to assist in managing the day-to-day operation of a Steak n Shake restaurant. The Manager has the authority to carry out the necessary activities to hold subordinate employees responsible for pre-defined activities that affect ultimate profitability.

Assignment to Shift Managment
A Manager will be able to determine staffing requirements and schedule work force to ensure sufficient manpower to provide customer service. A Manager will also possess the desire and ability to train, guide and motivate restaurant personnel to complete assigned tasks.
Continued Classroom Development
Continuation of level 2 and the introduction of level 3 Classes.
Level 2 Classes
  • Level 2 Classes:
    • Developing People
    • Ordering
    • Hospitality
    • P&L
    • Problem Solving
Level 3 Classes
  • Level 3 Classes
    • Round table discussion led by District Managers to specifically enhance the needs of individuals. All participants will complete business unit analysis in order to graduate this program
Feedback
All managers will receive written feedback evaluation every six months to help assess their strengths and areas for opportunities.
