Transitioning Away from Seed Oils
We have made a commitment to remove seed oils from our restaurants. We are working with our various suppliers to achieve this goal. Some changes, such as switching to the use of butter, we have been able to implement quickly. Others will take more time, such as completely eliminating seed oils from all fried products and buns.
Our fries, onion rings, and chicken tenders are cooked in 100% beef tallow at our restaurants. The beef tallow contains no additives, preservatives, or chemicals. We have also worked with our manufacturer of fries, at a considerable cost to us, to completely eliminate the vegetable oil formerly used to par-fry the product prior to freezing it and shipping it to us. As a result of these efforts, our Beef Tallow Fries are now completely free of seed oils. Transitioning away from seed oils is a journey, and we continue to work with our other suppliers to achieve our goal.
We now use 100% Grade A Wisconsin butter, sourced from a family farm, and have completely replaced the former buttery blend that contained seed oils on select burgers and sandwiches.
We now also offer Cane Sugar Coke to our guests who prefer natural sweeteners over products containing high-fructose corn syrup. We believe in giving our guests the freedom to choose among alternatives whenever possible.
